Active since 1996 – ongoing
Operation Delphis ( http://www.operazionedelphis.com/ ) was conceived, created and conducted by the Battibaleno Association ( https://www.battibaleno.it/ ) in 1996, as an annual day during which the sailors who participate commit to monitoring a pre-defined area of sea, reporting all sightings of cetaceans (but also turtles and other) on a dedicated site, also committing to collect other data (in the past, water samples for analysis, now plastic). This allows for a snapshot of the situation in various parts of the Mediterranean. The Genoa Aquarium first and the Genoa Aquarium Foundation Onlus since 2004, regularly participate in the group that manages Operation Delphis, making tools and skills available.
For Operation Delphis 2018, the Foundation provided scientific support and, together with the Genoa Aquarium, promoted a press conference at the Aquarium.
In 2023, the Foundation collaborated in the launch conference organized by the Battibaleno Association on the occasion of the Genoa Boat Show together with the Italian Naval League
