Ocean Rights

Thanks to the initial synergic action of the Ocean Race, 11th Hour Racing, Earth Law Center, the Municipality of Genoa and the Fondazione Acquario di Genova, as well as the ongoing work of the Core Group, between 2022 and 2023 it was possible to bring the Principles of Ocean Rights to the UN General Assembly, an essential step to start the dialogue to arrive, by 2030, at the Universal Declaration of Ocean Rights ( https://www.theoceanrace.com/en/ocean-rights ). This is a change of legal paradigm that is essential for the Ocean and for our planet. Since 2024, actions to promote dialogue between States have begun, once again promoted by The Ocean Race with Summits and Workshops, arousing great interest.
