ECOCREST© certifies an entire production chain

For the first time, in 2023 and again in 2024, it was possible to certify an entire production chain for products of marine origin. Thanks to the ECOCREST certification and the availability of the producers operating along the supply chain, a sustainability and ethical certification was achieved for pearl oysters farmed at sea in Indonesia (by two producing companies), whose mother-of-pearl is then processed by two companies in Vietnam, then by two companies in Italy and then used for high-quality dials by a specialized watchmaker in Switzerland. The certified products are high-quality pearls (GEM and GEM A), lower-quality pearls still deriving from certified plants, natural mother-of-pearl, processed mother-of-pearl, mother-of-pearl dials, the pearl oyster mollusc. The royalties were entirely allocated to social actions, in support of education and the environment, including actions for the recycling of plastics, for cleaning beaches and for the replanting of mangroves and corals.
